Penny Poole’s North Atlanta Dog-Friendly Guide

Hi there, I’m Penny Poole — the newest (and fluffiest) member of Brad Poole Group. When I’m not tagging along on showings or snoozing under a desk, I’m out exploring all the dog-friendly spots our community has to offer.

Whether you’re new to the area or just looking for some great places to take your pup, I’ve rounded up my favorite local patios, parks, and hangouts — all paw-approved and perfect for making memories with your four-legged best friend.

🦴 Dog-Friendly Patios

Chiringa – Alpharetta City Center
Right on the town green in Alpharetta, this patio has great people-watching, friendly staff, and plenty of space for dogs to hang. My humans love the fish tacos — I love the shady spot under the table.

Lucky’s Burger & Brew – Roswell
Named after a real golden retriever, Lucky’s is a local favorite for burgers, brews, and belly rubs. The patio is super casual and always pup-packed.

Truck & Tap – Duluth, Alpharetta & Woodstock
Rotating food trucks, live music, and a laid-back vibe. Dogs are welcome on the patio — I recommend bringing your own water bowl, just in case.

Grindhouse Killer Burgers – Piedmont Park, ATL
Their Piedmont Park location is steps from one of the best dog parks in the city — and the burgers smell incredible.

🌳 Parks & Trails with Great Dog Vibes

Big Creek Greenway – Alpharetta & Roswell
Leash up and hit the trail! This shady path is perfect for a morning walk or weekend jog with your pup. You’ll see plenty of squirrels and fellow dog walkers.

Old Mill Park – Roswell
Beautiful trails, a covered bridge, and waterfall views. It’s a little more scenic and a great spot for leash walks or family photos (I like to be included).

Fetch Park – Alpharetta & Old Fourth Ward
This off-leash dog park + bar combo is a hit with dogs and humans. It’s membership-based, but day passes are available. I love the turf, shade sails, and endless fetch opportunities.

Newtown Dream Dog Park – Johns Creek
One of the best dog parks in the country! Splash pads, agility equipment, and separate areas for big and small dogs. It’s the real deal.

🐾 Shops & Treats Worth Sniffing Out

The Whole Dog Market – Alpharetta & ATL
Healthy treats, supplements, and plenty of chew toys. I usually walk out with something delicious and a new friend.

Dog City Bakery – Sandy Springs & Marietta
Homemade biscuits, birthday cakes, and a treat bar that smells better than most human bakeries. Yes, I said that.

Valor Coffee – Alpharetta
Friendly baristas and puppuccinos at the window — need I say more? It’s my favorite place to start the day while the humans get their caffeine fix.

North Atlanta is full of places that love dogs just as much as we love being part of the family. Whether you're strolling through a Saturday farmers market, grabbing lunch with your pup on a sunny patio, or playing fetch at the park, there's always somewhere nearby to explore. And if you're sniffing around for a new backyard, a walkable neighborhood, or a home near the trail, my team would love to help. We know this area inside and out and we always make sure it’s dog-approved, too. Let’s fetch your dream home together.
